ARTWORK
Polychrome wooden vihuela being supported by an angel on the retablo of the Cathedral in Lugo. It was carved by Cornelio de Holanda in 1531.

INSTRUMENT
The instrument is of the vihuela family but may be a guitar if the number of strings is taken literally. It has an incurved waist with the upper bout smaller thatn the lower, and a flat back. The bridge is fixed and it has two c-holes in the soundboard just above the bridge, not very realistically placed. The neck is medium length finishing in what appears to be a fan or circular pegbox. .
