ARTWORK
Woodcut print in Jacopo da Strasbourg, Trivmphvs Caesaris (Venice, 1503). This illustration was the model used for the frises made for the Palace of the Marquis of Vélez Blanco (16-146).

INSTRUMENTS
The two vihuelas, variations on the same model, are bell-shaped with cornered waists and horns at the upper end of the body, sound holes placed unusually low on the sound board, and no visible bridges. The necks are long and terminate in scrolled peg boxes with no visible pegs.
