Intabulation of a four-voice chanson by Claudin de Sermisy, one of the best known pieces of the age. Literal intabulation of the vocal model, but with some notable differences in a couple of phrases. It is difficult to establish whether these are variants from a slightly different original source, or if they are errors in the process of making the intabulation, perhaps on account of Fuenllana’s blindness. Perhaps he wrote the tablature version from a memorised version that had become corrupted through the process of oral transmission. The differences are discussed in Griffiths, Tañer vihuela según Juan Bermudo (griffiths2003-4) Text by Clement Marot.
