Doña María de Villaroel, widow of don Juan de Villasante,
declared that her son Martín de Villasante had died in Madrid on 18 September 1562, leaving her as beneficiary, but was unsure whether to accept the inheritance until she knew his possessions and debts.
His possessions include a “una bihuela”, and “unas flautas”, “un libro de zifra de enríquez” and the people to whom he was owed money included “fuenllana”, presumably in Madrid.
This document is transcribed by Anastasio Rojo and published at http://anastasiorojovega.com/attachments/article/948/x1562%20VILLASANTE.pdf (accessed 12/05/2014), but it does not specify the source, although it is presumably from AHPV.
