I felt so sad [...] and, since I did not have anybody
to speak with I was so pensive that a thousand
times I desired to kill myself with my own hands
[...] and since I thought [...] that it was a mistake
to lose the soul without enjoying the body [...) I
took a vihuela, and more like a madman than with
any certain knowledge of what I was doing, I
began to say this canción and villancico
