Probably an oracionero, and a player of vihuela de arco and guitar. A teaching contract was drawn up at Barcelona in 1590 between Ioannes Gallart and Jaume Puntes, in which the former undertook to teach Puntes all he knew about singing and playing the nine-string [i.e. the five-course] and the vihuela de arco (viola de nou y de arch). In a similar contract, drawn up in 1596, the same Ioannes Gallart agreed to teach Paulo Bellmunt, a blind beggar (ciego oracionero), how to play the bowed vihuela and the guitar (musicam de viola de arch y de guitarras)
