Wife of 3rd Conde de Miranda, mother of 4th Conde de Miranda. She had strong musical interests and appears to have played the vihuela. Her post-mortem will includes vihuela strings. Fernando Enríquez de Valderrábano was one of the witnesses to her death in 1541
It was María who ordered the construction of the church in Peñaranda del Duero that later became a collegiate church. She was personally involved in the selection of the chapel master for the church, and gave money for the purchase of an organ.
