Antonio de Valderrábano is listed among the servants (criados) of Isabel of Portugal (d. 1539). There are various reasons to suggest that he may be related to the vihuleist Enríquez de Valderrábano. Isabel kept the chaplains and servants of her late mother, among whom is found one "Catalina de Sarabia, esposa del comendador Valderrábano". In the same household was María Enríquez de Cárdenas, wife of the 3rd Conde de Miranda, in turn a page of Prince Juan. As the condes de Miranda and the Valderrábano familywere in the same place, it is possible that the IV Conde and the vihuelist were raised and educated together.
