One of the seven ‘violon’ players that Queen Isabelle de Valois brought from France in 1560. The musicians are mentioned in the accounts of the Queen’s household (1563) with an annotation in the margin that reads: "vihuela-players, wages" (musicos de vihuela, gajes). The first reference to these musicians is found in a 1560 account of the wages they received for the first six months of that year; these musicians continue to appear in the accounts until the death of the queen in 1569.
