Juan Baños de Velasco y Acebedo. (Miranda de Ebro, 1615-1682) was a Spanish political writer, genealogist, general chronicler of Castile and king of arms. Senequist and defender at all costs of the blood nobility in rigidly traditionalist terms, Juan Baños de Velasco was the author of political-moral treatises and historical works, such as the continuation of the Pontifical, General and Catholic History of Gonzalo de Illescas, the sixth part of which he published in 1678.
