Fernández, Antonio

Violero in Lorca (Granada) in 1590. The only evidence of him is a protocolo for the payment of a “alcabala del viento”, a tax used by merchants for transactions made in public markets. He agreed to pay Lorenzo Nuñez 9 reales “por la alcabala que yo he causado por las guitarras y vigüelas y cuerdas y cosas que he vendido y vendiere tocantes a mi oficio por este presente año” [for the tax that I have generated because of the guitars and vihuelas and strings that I have sold and might sell related to my trade during this year].
