Described as “don Lope de Velasco”, presumably a person of some social stature, the post-mortem inventory of his belongings includes “una guitarra grande”
(AHPT leg 2654, fol 382. 1598.04.21); whereas the same item is described as “una vihuela” in the related auction documents (AHPT leg 2654, fol 396v. 1598.05.05). The documentation is contradictory (reynaudPT, 392).
