Cristóbal de Paredes is named in two documentos found by Barbieri in the Archivo Capitular of Toledo, the only evidence of his activity as a player of the vihuela de arco. On 13.VI.1561 he was paid 612 mrs by the cathedral to perform with his companions in the processions on the day of Corpus Christ and its Octave, dressed as angels with the annotation “that this is the same sum as in previous years” [que son los mismos mrs que se han dado en otros años]. Eleven years later, on 28.VIII.1573 he was paid 1500 mrs to play with his companions in the procession on the same day Corpus Christi and its Octave [el día y en la octava del Santísmo Sacramento] (Leg. 2).
