The sone of Luis de Narváez and who reportedly “in the eyes of many equalled his father”. He was born in Granada. In 1545 there was an Andrés de Narváez who left Spain for the Americas taking with him “a discante (=treble vihuela), vihuela strings and books: “un discante, cuerdas de vihuela y libros.” (communicated by email to John Griffiths by Juan Carlos Ayala (3 Sept, 2007). There is no confirmation that this is the same persion.
