This vihuela maker is known through the 1556 post-mortem inventory of his wife María Alvarez (AHPV/leg/237/fol/73-74). Schöner (schoner1999, 114) informs that Luis Alonso is also listed in the card index of the Archivo Historical Provincial in Valladolid as an itinerant vihuela maker at court, a “violero andante en la corte de S.M.”
