The only reference to this violero that has come to light is given by Gestoso y Pérez who lists him as a guarantor for a house rented by one Juan Marín (several individuals of this name are cited in gestoso1899-1908. The passage from Gestoso is brief and reads: “Violero. Fiador en 1609 de la casa que arrendó Juan Marín… Lib. V de Heredades y pos. de la Sta Iglesia. Su Arch. (gestoso1899-1908, vol. 2, 403). This information is reiterated by Romanillos and Harris (romanillos2002, 232). It is possible but unconfirmed that he was related to violero Juan Márquez.
