The piece commences with a duo of which theme 1 is upper part of homophony, then it is restated harmonized a tres at c.9, then free at c.19. Varied textures follow. At c.72 there is a brief sequence, with two statements of theme 2, then from c. 88, theme 3 is imitated canonically and theme 4 is sequenced twice from c.98.
