Here follows the first part of the the mass by Josquin called “de beata virgine”: the tuning is at the fourth and for greater clarity the open fourth course of this large vihuela is in unison with the open fifth course of the small vihuela. [vihuela 2]: Small vihuela. First grade.” The superius and the 5th voice (resolution of the canon) are intabulated for the upper vihuela while the tenor, altus and bass are intabulated for the lower vihuela.
