Designated by Pisador as being ”in the style of a villanesca” this setting of Catalan “Cuartetas” with the structure per stanza of a7 A7 b8 C5. Its designation as a villanesca, that is, analagous to an Italian madrigal, probably on the basis of its texture and imitation. This intabulation, however, is untexted, and is closely based on the polyphonic setting by Mateo Flecha in the Cancionero de Uppsala, no 35. The piece was also set for vihuela by Fuenllana.
