Commentary
This work is probably an intabulation of a three-voice polyphonic villancico by an unidentified composer. The opening imitation in the alto voice, then bass, then tiple is the factor that suggests this origin in a most obvious fashion. The notation uses red ciphers for the tiple part. Frenk lists the text as a variant of no. 729A. The text divides into the regular villancico strcture of estriblllo--copla--vuelta--estribillo, but with an unusually short second verse of the refrain
