Fantasia in mode 3.Tempo indication = ¢ [temp imp dim] = despacio. A beautiful polythematic fantasia. Yet another variety of technique. Starts as usual then becomes obsessed with one theme = No 3 for 80 compases. First work in which I’ve found a mutable theme with a consistent head, and a consistent inner motive, but frequently in different relationship to one another – connected.
