A short polythematic, partially imitative fantasia of 63 compases. It begins with free polyphony in four voices, compsas 1-13, with S incipit as theme 1. T begins like preceding tiento. Theme 2 is a 2 note motive, playfully tossed around c. 13-19 and repeated with different cadence 19-27. Theme 3 started twice from 27 as a discant melody. Free from 35 with a discant at 41 which suggests 3. Theme 4 imit from K at 45 then free until end.
More free writing than many of Mudarra’s fantasias.
Venegas de Henestrosa reworked this fantasia. See 1557/2, no. 65 [Anglés edition, p. 92-93, Fantasia XI] , also including material from Tiento 5 (Mu037)
