An imitative Fantasia, not really either monothematic or polythematic. The work begins with a 1st section of voice pairs (themes 1a & 1b) until compás 32, then becomes free with suggestions of the theme heard until work´s mid-point (compás 45) and then as sequence in the bass at compás 49ff.
After this, what might be called the second half, it continues as free polypohony to c. 68 where insignificant imitation of motive 2 occurs. Thereafter the music proceeds as free polyphony until the end.
The work is in Mode 2 transposed to G. Theme 1b is an augmentation rhythmically of 1a.
