Commentary

Polythematic, imitative, long fantasia 188 compases. Individualistic themes, including no.1 with a rest, in monothematic episodes of rather typical construction. Theme 1 however is 8 composes long. Theme 2 is descend 3rd motive, themes 3 + 6 are virtually identical.
I theme 1 imit long section 1-62: S/A – T/B pairs then suelto thematic entries.
II (59-77) dovetails over I imitative
III (77-91) theme 3 beginning of 2nd phase of piece – echo imits.
IV (91-116) theme 4 imit
