Polythematic, imitative fantasia of medium length: 135 compases. Quite regular ‘motet’ style, although wide intervals of themes give character, and thematic transformations give special interest wide variety of techniques. Apart from double length (41) of the 1st section, the other 4 episodes are 22-26 compases each.

I (1-41) Theme 1 A/S – T – B/S – T – B (tonal) + K.
II (41-63) Theme 2 imititative, then transformed into theme 3: Pairs of 3a+3b S/T – B/T > K.
III (63-87) Themes 4a+b in pairs – network style unaccompanied pairs. Then free with imitation of 4a head motive.
IV (87-109) Theme 5, common theme: ascend 2, descend 3, ascend 2, motive imitative suelto and canonically.
V (109-135) canonic & suelto treatment of motivic cadential ascend 4 crotchets.
Mode 2 in G. Range & cadences agree.
Broad work, contracting gradually as it progresses.
Thematic resemblance: ascend 4th; descend C. Q|C rhythm; descend 3rd. melodic ascend 3rd
Theme 6 is the same as theme 2 of the previous fantasia.
Complex relationship. Cadence different to end.
