Commentary

Intabulation of a motet by Willaert, another of the works that Fuenllana may have drawn from Moderne’s 1532 print of Motetti del fiori, or a later print of 1539. This motet was often found as the secunda pars of the motet Pater noster. Pisador also intabulated this motet (pi070).

The vocal model is available online at https://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Ave_Maria,_gratia_plena_(Adrian_Willaert) (accessed 12/11/2021). Andrea Angelini gives his analysis of the piece on his website http://www.andrea-angelini.eu/willaert-ave-maria/ (accessed 7/06/2019).
