In the Barbarino manuscript, this set of variations in titled in Spanish “Matachin con sus diferencias” with what seems to be a later addition “di Lorenzino” referring to the renowned Italian lutenist. The Matachin is first mentioned as a dance by Doni in 1544, but no early Spanish version exists. This work may not need to be here. There are no extant variations on this ground in Spanish sources. For the time being, it is here on a provisional basis, especially because the title is in Spanish.
