Commentary
A simple setting of the refrain (estribillo) of a well-known villancico. Narváez also set the same villancico, in four voices, and the entire song. A four-part vocal version is in the Cancionero de Palacio (angles1941, nº96). The melodies show some family resemblence, but none is a copy of the other.
