Fantasia in mode 1, the final piece of the mode 1 group in Libro 2. It is a tightly knitted polythematic imitative fantasía in three broad sections, without strong sectional delineation. Always forward moving through usual cadential devices. Same formulas as used in Fantasia 15 (mu025) of two polythematic sections separated by free polyphony. The themes of each outer section are closely related and developmental especially in the last section. Section I is broader than III but both have a more rapid succession of cadences than in Section II. A beautiful work. Much use of voice pairs.
