Vocal notation


Tightly knit polythematic fantasia in consonancias and redobles style. Almost symmetrical in design. 7 sections delineated by “coronadas” [Breve with a fermata]. Sections I-V upward in thrust while sections VI-VII are downward. Themes are all stepwise, grow out of each other by rhythmic implication homophonic passages and redobles have little to do with the main musical argument; they are introduced usually in the latter half of each segment to counterbalance the single direction of thrust and thus add balance as well as diversion.
