Imitative, polythematic fantasia, of greater idiomatic orientation than most of the other works. It is the only ‘redoble’ fantasia in the collection. One of the shortest fantasias: 53 compases.
I (1-29) Begins with redouble them 1 in imitation canonically. 5 compases. Theme A / T – B – S. After this K at 18 then no such important theme emerges. Several short motivic themes occur with only a single imitation to offer an answer: theme 2 (20-24).
II (29-53) Theme 3 begins a new exposition at 29 T/A-S-B until 42 then short motive 4 imitated for 2 compases >> free to end.
