The second of Fuenllana’s Fantasias for four-course vihuela. A short polythematic, imitative fantasia of 71 compases. Tuning is as if the four middle courses of a vihuela in E. Structure:
I (1-33) Theme 1, canonic imit, characterful.
II (33-48) Theme 2, abstract mellifluous theme, imit.
III (48-71) Theme 3, punchy, predominantly suelto imitations.
