Commentary

INTABULATION OF Intabulation of the three-voiced “Benedictus” from Morales “Missa Mille regretz”, based on Josquin’s chanson. Concerning the vocal sources see Anglés, in the Morales collected edition and the works by Pogue, Stevenson, Schöner and Alern. Schöner (135) suggests that the most likely source for Fuenllana’s model is Morales first book of motets (RISM M3580) of 1544.
