This article offers a study circumscribed to the reception of the musical humanism of Francisco Guerrero and Juan Navarro in the poem “La Casa de la Memoria”, integrated in Diversas rimas (1591) by Vicente Espinel. Emphasis is placed on the aesthetic connections of the poet from Malaga with the Sevillian cultural environment of the mid-16th Century, paying attention to outstanding figures such as Fernando de Herrera and Cristóbal Mosquera de Figueroa, author of an interesting paratext to the Canciones y villanescas espirituales (1589) by Guerrero.
