Among the instruments listed played in Naples in lib III are the “liuto” and “chitarra a sette corde”. The latter is described in lib IV as “detto Bordelletto alla Taliana” (lib IV, cap VIII-XI) and less perfect than the lute because it doesn’t have all the low notes of the lute.
